  • Generally, Georgia follows Geneva and Vienna conventions, meaning it's valid in all countries which also follow these conventions (all the official countries in the world actually). You can check the list here.

But: validity is limited by your current residency and sometimes the nationality. Always ask local authorities about the validity in your case.

  • For some countries, you will need the paperback IDP which you will also get from the traffic police in Georgia after succeeding in the last exam.

Who is this license useful for?

  • Perpetual travelers/Digital Nomads = people without any residence who don't stay in one country for more than 185 days; They de-registered themselves from the EU or their country. In this case they can use Georgian DL everywhere in the world.
  • Travelers: Many EU residents need a DL for their trips to the USA, Asia, Latin America, Africa or Australia etc. For that it's perfect.
  • People moving to a new country: Get your DL fast in Georgia and swap it in the new country or use it there for 6 months at least.
  • Lost their driving license: Lost it in your country? At least you'll be able to drive outside.
  • Back-up: Many people just want to have a back-up license. Just in case they lose theirs.
  • Collection: Some people collect passports and driving licenses. The more the marrier.
  • Collect fines: Traveling abroad you can use this license. In case police takes it you will still have your original one.
  • Urgency: You need it for a trip abroad super urgently.
  • It takes too long in your country or you keep failing
  • You need special categories (A, C, D, CE) for international travel


Who is this license NOT for?
  • EU residents (more than 6 months) who want to use it all around the EU only
  • People who want to use it in their own country in general
  • People who just want to buy a license online without any exams and learning


Clarification of the Cost Structure:


Basic costs for the license in Georgia are not as high as in many European countries, which is great.

Compared to Germany/Norway/Netherlands and some other similar countries where a license can cost over 3000€ and take over 6 months it's very compelling.

As a foreigner who needs to do everything fast in Georgia, you will be paying around 200€ for all the needed exams, document fees, and urgency fees. Classes are relatively cheap with 15-25$ per hour.

So why is our service fee higher than the basic costs?

We are constantly improving our system to ensure an even faster process, build relationships with local stakeholders which are crucial for your success, find the best english speaking instructors (there are only 2-3 good ones in the whole Tbilisi that we know of), collect all possible mistakes students make unknowingly in our guides, book your exams (which you can only do with a georgian bank card and georgian phone number), provide you with a comprehensive theory package for English speakers that helps most of our students succeed from the first time.

We take our students to all the appointments, manage any challenges that may arise, translate where needed and ensure the smoothest experience.

2ly: Not knowing local specifics
If you want to try doing it yourself, we wish you the best of luck! We don't force you to take our support, and now you know about the possibility.

Our founder speaks native Russian and very good English, has friends in Georgia who were helping him out and it was very challenging even for him to navigate the process. There are many details and "traps" which are not publicly known and even Georgians themselves often spend several months failing the exams and then contact us for support.

Doing it by yourself would mean that you might just get stuck in the process and keep failing because you don't know some relevant details.

It's very frustrating to spend all the money for the tickets, accommodation and all the fees and then leave without a License just because you didn't know that in Georgia you are not allowed to take your hands off the steering wheel while driving even at the traffic light (which is Point #1 in our guide).

First time when our founder failed his city exam it was because of a similar detail, that no one told him about.

3ly: Greedy pay twice the price

Let's calculate a realistic scenario with accommodation cost being 40$ per night.
You failed theory exam because you didn't know specific we teach our students: retake in one week = 7*40$ additional accommodation costs + exam fee = 320$

Then you failed city exam because you didn't know some basic info we provide: +100$ for City exam retake + 300$ accommodation & taxi to the exam = 400$

Just failing 2 exams which you wouldn't fail with our service will already cost you over 720$ in JUST the opportunity costs.

Plus - there's still no guarantee that you will pass it next time - so in the worst case you will waste a ton of time & money and not even get the license in the end. That'd be sad.

4ly: we only have limited exam spots per night. We can't take everyone and with this limited amount, we need to cover our basic costs and also make it at least a bit worth of doing this job for you.
